Trump Rules Out Third Term in 2028, Praises Potential Republican Contenders

Washington, D.C.November 03, 2025 – The Europe Today: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has ruled out the possibility of seeking a third term in the 2028 presidential election, during an interview with CBS News’ 60 Minutes aired Sunday.

“I don’t even think about it. I will tell you, a lotta people want me to run,” Trump said when asked by host Norah O’Donnell whether he would attempt to run for a third term.

When questioned about potential Republican contenders, including Vice President JD Vance and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump expressed his approval of both. “I like so many people. We have an unbelievable bench. We could run two people together. We have a great bench. So I don’t want to start talking about elections. It’s too early,” he added.

Under the U.S. Constitution’s 22nd Amendment, a president is limited to serving two terms in office.
