Parliament

RabatNovember 08, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Morocco’s House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami announced on Friday that the lower chamber of Parliament is committed to strengthening its institutional and digital communication with the media and the Moroccan public.

Speaking before the Committee on Finance and Economic Development during the presentation of the 2026 draft budgets for both parliamentary chambers, Talbi El Alami outlined several initiatives designed to enhance parliamentary transparency, openness, and engagement with citizens.

Among these initiatives, he highlighted the launch of the “Media Box” — an audiovisual studio aimed at showcasing parliamentary activities and strengthening the institution’s presence across Morocco’s national media landscape.

The Speaker also noted that the live broadcast of public debates on the 2026 Finance Bill (PLF 2026) generated significant public engagement, in line with internal regulations approved by the Constitutional Court.

He reported that discussions on the PLF 2026 reached 3.2 million views on Facebook, 355,000 on YouTube — amounting to approximately 55,400 hours of viewing — and 1.2 million views on Instagram. Additionally, the House’s official YouTube channel gained 3,700 new subscribers, while its Flickr photo archive platform recorded an average of 20,000 daily views.

“These figures reflect the growing interest of citizens in parliamentary proceedings and the responsible debates of parliamentary commissions,” Talbi El Alami emphasized.

He further underscored the House’s ongoing efforts to accelerate its digital transformation toward a secure and efficient electronic parliament, with a focus on modernizing working mechanisms, improving institutional performance, and enhancing cybersecurity.

In this regard, Talbi El Alami pointed to ongoing reforms that include the digitization of legislative procedures and internal events, the integration of artificial intelligence into documentation systems, the continued modernization of administrative and parliamentary processes, and the strengthening of the institution’s presence through its official website and social media channels.
