Sydney, November 29, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Vietnamese Spring Fest 2025, the largest cultural and community event of the Vietnamese community in Western Australia, was held in Perth, drawing thousands of Vietnamese expatriates and local residents.
The festival was co-organised by the Consulate General of Việtnam in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, the Australia–Vietnam Talent Network (AVTN), and the Vietnamese Women’s Association of Western Australia (WAVNWA).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Consul General Nguyễn Thanh Hà said the event seeks to promote Vietnamese cultural values to international friends while acting as a bridge to enhance trade and investment links between Việtnam and Western Australia.
Perth Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds, in his welcome remarks, praised the Vietnamese community as an integral part of the city’s multicultural identity, contributing significantly to its economic, cultural, and social life. He affirmed the city’s full support for events that promote intercultural understanding and community engagement.
Hannah Vu, AVTN President and representative of the organising committee, said the Vietnamese community had spent months preparing for the festival. She noted that the event was intended not only as a celebration but also as a symbol of unity, offering overseas Vietnamese an opportunity to reconnect with their cultural roots while strengthening bonds between Việtnam and Australia.
A major highlight of the programme was a showcase of designer La Pham’s ao dai collection, featuring garments made from Vietnamese silk, hemp, traditional fabrics, and ethnic brocade. The collection blended cultural heritage with modern design elements.
The festival also included a vibrant “Tet Village,” recreating the atmosphere of a traditional Lunar New Year celebration with food stalls and displays of regional specialities. Booths offering study-abroad consultations, import-export services, and business support from Vietnamese and Australian enterprises attracted strong interest from young people and local businesses.
Nguyễn Trang Ngọc Minh Thu, founder of Global Trade Connection, said many Australian visitors expressed enthusiasm for potential cooperation in cuisine, trade, and tourism. She highlighted that the Vietnamese community in Western Australia is entering a new phase of growth, with an increasing number of capable young entrepreneurs—an important foundation for strengthening future Việtnam–Australia trade relations.
