Doha, December 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mergen Gurdov, held a meeting on Wednesday in Doha with Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to discuss expanding bilateral economic cooperation, according to media reports.
During the meeting, Gurdov invited Qatari entrepreneurs to visit Turkmenistan and explore emerging investment opportunities across key sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between the chambers of the two countries and revitalizing the Qatar-Turkmen Joint Business Council to further enhance ties between business communities.
Al-Kuwari reaffirmed the Qatar Chamber’s commitment to supporting expanded private-sector partnerships, noting a growing interest among Qatari investors in Turkmenistan’s investment landscape. He stressed the chamber’s readiness to facilitate trade relations and promote joint ventures with Turkmen companies.
Gurdov expressed optimism about the future of bilateral cooperation and highlighted Turkmenistan’s willingness to deepen business engagement with Qatar’s private sector.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the third session of the Turkmen-Qatar Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, held in Doha from November 26–27, 2025. The session brought together senior officials and representatives from various government bodies and business circles of both nations.
