Turkmenistan’s Consul General and Istanbul’s Governor Pave the Way for City Ties

Istanbul, January 16, 2024, The Europe Today: On January, 15 Muhammetnur Ovezov, the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Türkiye, and Davut Gül, Istanbul’s Governor, convened in Istanbul on Monday to explore the establishment of brotherly relations between the cities. The meeting, characterized by a spirit of collaboration, focused on identifying opportunities for cooperation between Arkadag and Istanbul.

Discussions during the meeting, spanning trade, economic, educational, and cultural-humanitarian realms, highlighted the shared commitment to fostering strong ties between the two regions.

The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Türkiye reported that both parties engaged in constructive dialogues to chart the course for bilateral collaboration.

The Turkmen diplomat, underlining Turkmenistan’s dedication to cultivating relations with fraternal nations, presented Governor Gül with a copy of the new book by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, titled ‘Youth – the Support of the Motherland.’ This gesture symbolizes the cultural exchange and mutual understanding emphasized in the discussions.

The meeting also included a thorough exchange of views on the joint action plan for 2024. The plan aligns with Turkmenistan’s declared ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’ Year, emphasizing a strategic framework for cooperative initiatives and shared objectives between Arkadag and Istanbul. This collaborative effort is expected to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation, laying the groundwork for sustained engagement between the two cities.
