Islamabad, May 14, 2024, The Europe Today: His Excellency Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, recently held a meeting with Mr. Hanif Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Chess Federation. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between the chess federations of Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
Mr. Qureshi provided an overview of the Pakistan Chess Federation’s main activities and expressed keen interest in establishing cooperative ties with the Chess Federation of Kazakhstan. He also shared details about an upcoming delegation of Pakistani chess players set to participate in an international tournament in Almaty from June 9 to 21, 2024.
Ambassador Kistafin highlighted the significant progress made through “sports diplomacy” and the strengthening of relationships between the sports federations of both countries. He expressed full support for the initiatives proposed by Mr. Qureshi, assuring that relevant negotiations would be arranged shortly.
