Wuhan, May 19, 2024, The Europe Today: The Fifth National Medical School MPA (Masters of Public Administration) Education Development Forum and International Academic Seminar was successfully held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. On May 19, 2024, in order to promote the high-quality development of MPA education, grasp the new changes in the connotation of MPA education, explore new ways to innovate MPA education management, and deeply explore the new combination of new quality productivity and MPA education, the Fifth National Medical School MPA Education Development Forum and International Academic Seminar hosted by the National Medical School MPA Education Alliance and hosted by the School of Management of Hubei University of Chinese Medicine was successfully held in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
At the meeting, many experts put forward their insights, carried out academic discussions in full swing, and jointly discussed and looked forward to the future development trend of MPA education, contributing to the sustainable development of MPA education in my country’s medical schools. This conference not only provides a platform for display and communication for various colleges and universities, but also injects new impetus and vitality into promoting the innovation and development of MPA education in my country.
The conference was divided into four parts: keynote speech, summit forum, international exchange, and experience sharing of sister colleges. With the theme of “New Quality Productivity and High-quality Development of MPA Education in Medical Colleges”, the leaders and authoritative experts of the MPA Teaching Committee were invited: Professor Xu Caiming, the initiator of the National Medical College MPA Education Alliance and Zhejiang University City College, and members of the National MPA Teaching Committee: Professor Sun Ping of the School of Liberal Arts and Law of Northeastern University, Professor Zhang Wenguang, Dean of the School of Government Management of Beijing Normal University, Professor Li Peng of the School of Public Administration of Dalian University of Technology, Professor Liu Xutao, Deputy Director of the Public Administration Teaching and Research Department of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (National Academy of Political Science), Professor Kong Fanbin, Dean of the School of Government Management of Nanjing University, Professor Liu Bangcheng, Vice Dean of the School of International and Public Affairs of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Zhou Zhongliang, Dean of the School of Public Policy and Management of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Professor Zhang Yi, Dean of the School of Public Administration of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Dr. Xie Jiahong, Director of the Office of the Secretariat of the National MPA Teaching Committee, and Associate Professor Zhang Yan, Director of the Department of Health Management of the School of Medical and Health Management of Huazhong University of Science and Technology .
At the meeting, experts conducted in-depth analysis of the practical problems faced by MPA education development, the opportunities and challenges brought by the new era, and jointly discussed the optimization and innovation of MPA education programs and talent training models. In the era of continuous digitalization and intelligent development, experts affirmed the advantages of digitalization, and proposed targeted improvement measures and development paths for the new requirements of MPA talent training in the digital era, and reached a consensus.
The conference also invited two well-known foreign experts: Chris Bullen, professor at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, President CPMA,executive director of the World Health Organization Traditional Medicine Foundation and researcher at Shandong Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The two experts, with their international vision and forward-looking thinking, brought unique insights to the participants by sharing the real cases of New Zealand public health and China-Pakistan cooperation, opened up a new vision for the development of public health management, and promoted international exchanges. Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz introduced the current development of health corridor and emphasized the multidisciplinary link among universities, hospitals, research institutes and government departments for the development of infrastructure and public health management. He also introduced the potential role of digital medicine and medicinal plants in Pakistan public health sector.
At the meeting, representatives from the MPA Education Centers of Fujian Medical University, Southern Medical University, Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology took the stage to showcase the characteristics and achievements of their respective MPA Education Centers, providing valuable reference and reference for the participants.
The atmosphere at the meeting was warm and well received by the participants, who said they benefited a lot.
