Beijing, May 30, 2024, The Europe Today: Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Beijing on Thursday. The meeting underscored the strong and evolving relationship between the two nations.
President Xi emphasized the significance of the UAE as a comprehensive strategic partner for China. He highlighted that in recent years, China-UAE relations have maintained a robust momentum of development, serving as an exemplary model for China-Arab state relations in the new era.
“This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE,” Xi noted. “It is an important juncture for China-UAE relations to build on past achievements and forge ahead.”
President Xi reiterated China’s readiness to work with the UAE to maintain the strategic direction of bilateral relations. He stressed the importance of viewing their partnership from a strategic height and long-term perspective to ensure the vigorous development of their comprehensive strategic partnership.
