Turkmenistan Ambassador to Georgia Meets with Georgian Deputy Minister to Discuss Cultural Cooperation

Tbilisi, June 26, 2024, The Europe Today: Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, held a significant meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia, Ioseb Bagaturia, as reported by the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Tbilisi.

During the meeting, both parties acknowledged the active growth of Turkmen-Georgian relations across various sectors, underscoring the importance of cultural exchanges in fostering comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Seyitmammedov highlighted the ongoing events in Turkmenistan and abroad celebrating the 300th anniversary of the esteemed Turkmen poet and philosopher, Makhtumkuli Fragi. He also extended invitations for upcoming commemorations.

Ioseb Bagaturia expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the invitation to the opening ceremony of monuments dedicated to Makhtumkuli Fragi and Shota Rustaveli in Ashgabat. He announced plans for joint cultural events in Georgia to honor the Turkmen poet, further enhancing bilateral cultural ties.

The discussion also included plans to hold the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Georgia. Both parties expressed confidence that this event would play a crucial role in promoting Turkmen culture, art, literature, and history, as well as strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries and their peoples.
