President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Reviews Seasonal Agricultural Progress in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, July 23, 2024, The Europe Today: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov convened a working meeting on Monday to review the progress of seasonal agricultural activities across the country. The meeting, attended by Deputy Prime Minister T. Atakhalliyev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, and velayat hyakims, focused on the ongoing efforts in the agricultural sector, as reported by TDH.

Deputy Prime Minister Atakhalliyev presented a comprehensive report detailing the current dynamics of seasonal agricultural campaigns. He highlighted that in the velayats, grain is being efficiently transported from receiving points to warehouses and elevators to prevent losses. Additionally, plowing and leveling of cleared fields are underway, alongside the procurement of high-quality seed material for the upcoming sowing season.

Atakhalliyev also reported on the continued inter-row cultivation, soil fertilization with mineral fertilizers, and vegetation irrigation in fields sown with cotton. Preparations are being made for the autumn sowing of potatoes, vegetables, melons, and other crops in the velayats.

President Berdimuhamedov underscored the importance of prioritizing current seasonal agricultural work, directing Deputy Prime Minister Atakhalliyev to focus on preparing for the future wheat harvest and ensuring the proper care of cotton fields. The President emphasized the necessity of timely payments to producers and service companies for the delivered harvest. He also stressed the importance of meticulous preparation for the autumn sowing of agricultural crops and provided specific instructions to that effect.

The meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to advancing agricultural productivity and ensuring the efficiency of seasonal field work, thereby reinforcing Turkmenistan’s agro-industrial capacity.
