Yibin, September 02, 2024, The Europe Today: A total of 137 projects, with a combined investment of 95.25 billion yuan (approximately 13.4 billion U.S. dollars), were signed at the 2024 World Power Battery Conference, according to organizers on Sunday. The event, held in Yibin, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, attracted nearly 400 industry experts and executives from both domestic and international companies.
The conference, hosted by the Sichuan provincial government, serves as a platform for international cooperation in the power battery industry and aims to promote the high-quality development of green and low-carbon industries. As the global demand for new energy vehicles (NEVs) continues to grow, China has established a comprehensive industrial chain to support this booming sector.
Of the 137 projects, 133, representing an investment of 84.55 billion yuan, will be located in Yibin. These projects are expected to generate an annual output value exceeding 100 billion yuan and create over 20,000 jobs once they become fully operational, according to the Yibin municipal department for economic cooperation and new industries.
The World Power Battery Conference, inaugurated in 2022, has become a significant event for the industry. In its previous two sessions, more than 100 projects were signed, with a total contracted investment exceeding 200 billion yuan. The continued success of the conference highlights China’s commitment to leading the global transition toward sustainable energy solutions.
