Kazakh President Delivers State-of-the-Nation Address Focused on Fairness, Growth, and Optimism

Astana, September 02, 2024, The Europe Today: In a significant State-of-the-Nation Address delivered today, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined his vision for a “Fair Kazakhstan,” emphasizing the themes of law and order, economic growth, and public optimism, as reported by Kazinform News Agency.

Opening the address, President Tokayev extended his congratulations to the members of Kazakhstan’s Parliament as they commence their new session, wishing them success in their legislative endeavors.

The President highlighted the achievements of the previous parliamentary session, noting the adoption of 102 new laws. These legislative measures covered a broad range of areas including public order, anti-human trafficking efforts, advancements in science and technology, and improvements in heating energy infrastructure.

A significant portion of the address was dedicated to social issues, particularly the protection of children. President Tokayev announced the enactment of a law providing payments to children from the National Fund and emphasized the tightening of penalties for child abuse. These measures are part of a broader effort to enhance child welfare and address critical social concerns.

Addressing the issue of household debt, the President acknowledged the prevalence of multiple credits among citizens, which he described as a serious risk to societal stability. In response, new laws have been introduced to mitigate this problem and protect public financial well-being.

President Tokayev also outlined various steps taken to improve the general welfare of the population, underscoring his commitment to fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for all Kazakhstani citizens.
