Indonesian and Malaysian Soldiers Celebrate Harmony at Border on Malaysia’s National Day

The occasion marked Malaysia’s 67th National Day, and the event was a testament to the enduring spirit of friendship between the two neighboring countries.

Members of the Border Security Task Force of Yon Armed 11 from Indonesia’s Kostrad (Strategic Reserve Command) extended their heartfelt congratulations to their Malaysian counterparts, celebrating the significant milestone in Malaysia’s history. Despite the modest scale of the event, it was rich in meaning, with soldiers from both sides interacting warmly, reflecting the strong bonds that have developed over years of cooperation.

“We extend our best wishes for the 67th Independence Day to all Malaysians, especially our friends from the Malaysian Army who are stationed at this border,” said Second Lieutenant Toffano Adita Bangun, Commander of the Simanggaris Joint Security Post, who led the Indonesian delegation. He expressed hope that the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia would continue to thrive.

The event featured a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, a photo session, and the exchange of souvenirs, further strengthening the sense of unity between the two forces. Yon Armed 11 Kostrad remarked that such moments of harmony are crucial in maintaining and strengthening the relationship between the two nations, particularly among the security personnel stationed at the border. “With moments like this, it is hoped that the relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia will grow stronger, especially among the security personnel at the border,” the unit noted in a social media post titled “The Harmony of Indonesian and Malaysian Soldiers at the Border.”
