Hanoi, September 03, 2024, The Europe Today: Experts are advising Vietnam to continue innovating its growth model by emphasizing high technology, supporting innovative startups, and transitioning to a green economy, according to recent discussions in Hanoi.
At the third meeting of the sub-committee for socio-economic affairs of the 14th National Party Congress, chaired by Politburo member and Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, key strategies were reviewed and outlined. This meeting, part of the preparations for the 2026 National Party Congress, evaluated progress made under the 2021-2030 socioeconomic development strategy and discussed draft orientations for the period of 2026-2030.
In his address, Prime Minister Chính reiterated that economic development remains a central priority for Vietnam. He stressed the importance of revitalizing traditional growth drivers while actively pursuing new sources of economic growth. This includes a focus on sectors such as the digital economy, green economy, circular economy, sharing economy, and knowledge economy.
PM Chính also underscored the country’s commitment to flexible policies that adapt to both domestic and global conditions. His remarks followed Vietnam’s participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Dalian, China, where he highlighted the nation’s ongoing journey of innovation, integration, and development.
The Vietnamese government is placing a strong emphasis on renewing traditional growth drivers like investment, exports, and consumption while actively promoting emerging sectors. Public-private partnerships are being strengthened to mobilize resources, with public investment being prioritized to catalyze private investment and activate social resources for comprehensive growth and development.
This strategic focus aims to support Vietnam’s long-term economic objectives and align with global trends, ensuring sustainable and innovative growth for the future.
