Harbin, September 08, 2024, The Europe Today: The 19th Men’s and 10th Women’s World Firefighting and Rescue Championship officially commenced on Saturday, hosted by the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers.
Often referred to as the “Firefighting Olympics,” this prestigious event is designed to enhance global exchange in firefighting sports and advance the development of emergency management, firefighting, and rescue services.
The competition, running from September 7 to 10, features a range of events divided into men’s and women’s categories. Scheduled events include building climbing with hook ladders, 100-meter obstacle courses, 4X100m fire relay races, and combat deployment motor pump shooting.
The Chinese team is making a notable appearance this year with 10 male athletes participating across all events and 10 female athletes competing in two team events. This marks the debut of the Chinese female team in the championship.
The championship promises to be an exhilarating showcase of skill and teamwork, reflecting the commitment and expertise of firefighters and rescuers from around the globe.
