Bishkek, September 15, 2024 – The Europe Today: Kyrgyzstan’s mutual trade with member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the period from January to July 2024 amounted to $2.4 billion, representing an 8.7% decline compared to the same period in 2023, according to a report from the National Statistics Committee.
Russia accounted for the largest share of Kyrgyzstan’s trade with EAEU countries, making up 71.3% of the total, followed by Kazakhstan with 26.8%. These two nations continue to dominate Kyrgyzstan’s trade within the EAEU.
In contrast, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade with non-EAEU countries showed a significant increase during the same period. Trade volume with third countries reached $6.4 billion, marking a 10.6% rise compared to January-July 2023.
The overall figures highlight a shift in Kyrgyzstan’s trade dynamics, with a notable increase in trade with external markets, while trade within the EAEU has experienced a downturn.
