Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Reviews Second Phase Construction Plans in Arkadag

Ashgabat, September 16, 2024 – The Europe Today: Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, conducted a working visit to the newly developed city of Arkadag, where he reviewed projects for the second phase of construction. During the visit, he met with key leaders and examined plans for several new facilities, including a shopping center, hotel, modern park, residential buildings, a sanatorium, a General Education Center for Information Technology, a business center, and an Agricultural University, as reported by TDH.

Berdimuhamedov carefully studied the drawings of the proposed developments, offering several adjustments. He emphasized the importance of aligning the new buildings with the “smart city” concept, which prioritizes digital integration and sustainability. He also highlighted the necessity of considering the local landscape and ecosystem during construction to ensure environmental harmony.

Special focus was placed on the plans for the Agricultural University campus, which Berdimuhamedov suggested needed revision. Additionally, landscaping and the integration of digital technologies were key topics of discussion. The National Leader underlined the need for a scientific approach in selecting tree and flower species, ensuring they are suitable for the local soil and climate.

Berdimuhamedov’s visit comes as Arkadag prepares for Turkmenistan’s upcoming Independence Day celebrations. Enhancements to roads, parks, and urban infrastructure are actively underway in the city.
