Astana, September 28, 2024 – The Europe Today: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited an exhibition showcasing local agricultural producers at the SPK TURKISTAN industrial park, highlighting the region’s agro-industrial development.
The exhibition featured a diverse array of products, including meat, dairy, fish, confectionery, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. During the visit, the President received briefings on key initiatives aimed at enhancing the agro-industrial complex in the region.
Local authorities outlined plans to increase agricultural crop yields, implement water-saving technologies, expand greenhouse facilities, and launch investment projects. By 2030, the region aims to incorporate water-saving technologies on 40% of irrigated land and establish new greenhouse complexes covering 602 hectares. Additionally, 105 investment projects are expected to create over 8,000 jobs within the next three years.
President Tokayev engaged with local entrepreneurs to explore opportunities for improving the agricultural sector’s efficiency. He expressed optimism about the region’s future, commending the governor for his dedication to advancing local agricultural initiatives.
“In general, the situation in the region is positive. The governor copes with his tasks; he is not afraid of his work. Therefore, I am optimistic about the future of the region. I wish everyone success,” the President stated, emphasizing the critical role of water-saving technologies in sustainable agricultural practices.
