China Reports 13.57 Million Inbound and Outbound Trips During National Day Holiday

Beijing, October 08, 2024 – The Europe Today: During the National Day holiday from October 1 to 7, border control authorities on the Chinese mainland recorded approximately 13.57 million inbound and outbound trips, as announced by the Ministry of Public Security.

The ministry’s statement revealed that a total of 606,000 vehicles crossed the border over the seven-day period, marking one of the longest public holidays on the mainland.

Additionally, the report indicated a decrease in criminal cases and public security incidents during the holiday, with incidents down by 5.7 percent and public security cases down by 20.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

To ensure the safety of tourists and manage public security threats, an average of 580,000 police and auxiliary police officers were deployed daily throughout the holiday period. This proactive approach reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining safety and security for travelers during one of the peak travel times in China.
