President Tokayev Attends Finals of the 27th Asian Table Tennis Championships

Astana, October 14, 2024 – The Europe Today: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the men’s and women’s singles and doubles finals of the 27th ITTF Asian Table Tennis Championships 2024, held in the Kazakh capital on October 13, according to the Akorda press service as reported by NHC.

The prestigious tournament brought together 210 athletes from 26 nations, including Olympic and world champions, showcasing the highest level of competition in the sport. Kazakhstan’s men’s table tennis team made history during the event by securing seventh place, defeating Iran 3:1, marking their best-ever finish at the Asian Table Tennis Championships.

This year’s tournament continued Kazakhstan’s strong showing, as the men’s team finished among the top eight for the third consecutive time. The event further demonstrated Kazakhstan’s growing presence in the international table tennis arena, reinforcing its status as a key player in the sport across Asia.
