Beijing, October 15, 2024 – The Europe Today: Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, met with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov on Tuesday in Beijing, as the two countries mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The meeting emphasized the deep strategic trust and cooperation that have characterized China-Russia ties over decades of good-neighborly relations.
During the talks, Zhang underscored China’s commitment to further strengthening and developing the bilateral relationship. He called for continued high-level exchanges and enhanced military cooperation to safeguard the sovereignty, security, and development interests of both nations. Zhang also highlighted the shared goal of maintaining international and regional peace and stability.
Belousov expressed Russia’s willingness to collaborate closely with China to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era. This meeting followed a series of talks between Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun and Belousov, held on Monday, further solidifying the military ties between the two countries and reinforcing their shared commitment to security and defense collaboration.
