Kuala Lumpur, October 23, 2024 – The Europe Today: Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak presided over the 267th Meeting of the Conference of Rulers, which began at Istana Negara on Wednesday, October 23. The two-day meeting brings together key rulers from across Malaysia to discuss important national matters.
Among the attendees were Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor, Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah of Kedah, Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
Also in attendance were Crown Princes, including Tunku Mahkota Ismail of Johor, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah of Pahang, and Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra of Kelantan, representing their respective states.
The meeting was further graced by the presence of the state Governors, including Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak of Penang, Tun Mohd Ali Rustam of Melaka, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin of Sabah, and Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar of Sarawak.
A pre-council meeting, held on October 22, was honored by the presence of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia. The last Conference of Rulers took place on July 17, with Tuanku Muhriz presiding.
The Conference of Rulers plays a pivotal role in Malaysia’s governance, providing a platform for the nation’s rulers to engage on issues of national interest and governance.
