Hanoi, October 24, 2024 – The Europe Today: Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Đức Phớc has approved a comprehensive national strategy aimed at positioning Vietnam as a regional leader in blockchain research, development, and application by 2030. The strategic initiative targets the establishment of a robust blockchain infrastructure and ecosystem across multiple sectors, including finance, healthcare, transport, and education.
By 2025, Vietnam will have developed a foundational blockchain infrastructure adhering to cybersecurity, network security, and personal data protection regulations. A blockchain ecosystem, tentatively named “Blockchain+,” will be implemented to enhance operations in industries such as finance, logistics, energy, agriculture, and public services.
By 2030, Vietnam aims to solidify its position as a blockchain leader in the region, providing services to both domestic and international markets. The country plans to create at least 20 reputable blockchain brands and build three blockchain technology testing centers in major cities.
The strategy outlines tasks for improving regulations and legal frameworks to support the development of blockchain infrastructure, encouraging digital technology companies to develop competitive platforms.
Phan Đức Trung, deputy chairman of the Vietnam Blockchain Association, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a transparent and secure digital economy, marking this strategy as a significant milestone in Vietnam’s digital transformation.
