Uzbek-Pakistani Business Forum Held in Tashkent to Strengthen Economic Ties

Tashkent, November 5, 2024 – The Europe Today: Complementing the 9th Intergovernmental Commission meeting on Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, a vibrant Uzbek-Pakistani Business Forum took place in Tashkent, aiming to bolster bilateral economic partnerships and facilitate business-to-business (B2B) engagements.

The forum witnessed strong participation, with 25 Pakistani companies representing various sectors interacting with over 100 representatives from prominent Uzbek enterprises. B2B meetings covered a wide range of industries, including textiles, food processing, engineering, and logistics, reflecting the commitment of both countries to explore collaborative business opportunities.

Nearly 100 B2B meetings were conducted, allowing companies from both sides to explore new ventures, discuss potential partnerships, and establish valuable trade connections. These sessions focused on promoting investment and fostering mutual growth by capitalizing on the economic strengths of both nations.

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan addressed the forum, highlighting Pakistan’s investor-friendly environment and inviting Uzbek businesses to consider joint projects in Pakistan. He underscored the significance of such interactions in enhancing commercial ties and contributing to regional economic stability.

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, welcomed the Pakistani delegates and emphasized Uzbekistan’s commitment to creating a supportive atmosphere for international partnerships. He noted that initiatives like the Business Forum are instrumental in driving trade and investment, opening new avenues for entrepreneurs from both countries.

The forum reinforced the outcomes of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting, underscoring a shared vision for strong, sustainable economic engagement. The extensive B2B exchanges set the groundwork for future collaborative projects, demonstrating a practical approach to fortifying commercial bonds between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
