PM Shehbaz Sharif to Chair Central Apex Committee Meeting on November 18

Islamabad, November 15, 2024 — The Europe Today: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened a meeting of the Central Apex Committee, established under the National Action Plan (NAP), to be held at the PM House on Monday, November 18.

The high-profile meeting will include the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Minister for Law Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar. Chief ministers from Pakistan’s four provinces, as well as the prime ministers of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, will also attend.

Senior security and administrative officials, including the heads of ISI, ISPR, MI, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), along with the interior secretary and inspector generals of police, will be present to discuss key national security and policy matters.

According to sources, the meeting’s agenda will focus heavily on addressing the escalating incidents of terrorism across the country. Critical decisions aimed at strengthening national security and counter-terrorism measures are anticipated.

The Central Apex Committee plays a pivotal role in implementing NAP directives, reflecting a unified effort among federal, provincial, and regional authorities to combat threats to national stability and security.
