Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Strengthen Educational Cooperation at 2024 UN Climate Change Conference in Baku

Baku, November 15, 2024 – The Europe Today: High-level meetings are underway in Baku as part of the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference, with key initiatives focusing on educational collaboration. A significant meeting took place between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Preschool and School Education, Hilola Umarova, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev.

The discussions centered on joint projects to enhance teacher training, the development of educational programs, and cooperation through the international STEAM Festival. Plans are also underway to establish a STEAM Center in Uzbekistan to advance science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education.

The ministers agreed to facilitate staff exchanges between Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami and Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. Additionally, efforts will be made to study and share experiences from Azerbaijan’s Mercy School, its knowledge assessment system, and digital educational platforms.

To solidify their partnership, both parties signed a roadmap outlining enhanced cooperation for the period 2025-2026.
