Young Officer and Soldier Martyred, Three Terrorists Killed in Harnai Operation

Harnai, November 15 — The Europe Today: A young officer of the Pakistan Army, Major Muhammad Haseeb, and Havildar Ahmed Noor embraced martyrdom in an engagement with terrorists in the Harnai district of Balochistan on Thursday, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement. In the operation, three terrorists were neutralized.

The operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorists planning to target innocent civilians in Harnai. Under the command of Major Muhammad Haseeb, security forces swiftly mobilized to secure the area and engaged the terrorists effectively, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists.

Tragically, during the operation, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated on the lead vehicle of the security forces. Major Muhammad Haseeb, 28, from Rawalpindi, who was leading from the front, and Havildar Ahmed Noor, 38, from Barkhan, were martyred after displaying remarkable courage and gallantry.

In a statement, ISPR emphasized the unyielding resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to thwart attempts at undermining peace, stability, and progress in Balochistan. “Such sacrifices by our brave soldiers only reinforce our determination,” ISPR noted.

A funeral prayer for Major Haseeb Shaheed was held at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, attended by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, senior military and civil officials, officers, soldiers, and family members of the martyr. The COAS paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and Fitna al Khawarij.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed their condolences and paid homage to the martyrs, praying for their elevation in Jannah and conveying sympathies to the bereaved families. The prime minister reiterated that the sacrifices of the nation’s soldiers would not be in vain and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to rooting out terrorism from the country.
