Mashhad, December 3, 2024 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan has announced its intention to host the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in 2025. The declaration was made by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during the 28th meeting of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers, held in Mashhad, Iran, on Tuesday.
Speaking at the gathering, Bayramov underscored the importance of active engagement and support from all member states to ensure the success of Azerbaijan’s initiative. He emphasized that collective efforts would strengthen regional collaboration and economic development within the ECO framework.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister also conveyed his appreciation to Iran for its effective leadership of the organization throughout 2024 and its role in hosting the latest ministerial meeting. Additionally, he extended his best wishes to Kazakhstan, which is set to chair the organization in 2025.
The ECO, comprising ten member states, focuses on fostering regional economic cooperation, trade facilitation, and development projects across diverse sectors. The upcoming summit in Azerbaijan is expected to build on these efforts, advancing mutual objectives among member countries.
