Ashgabat, December 11, 2024 – The Europe Today: Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, received the commemorative medal Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna and a memorable gift set in recognition of the 300th anniversary of the renowned poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy. The presentation was reported by the Watan Habarlary news program on Tuesday.
The decree for the medal was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The initiative was spearheaded by members of the Halk Maslahaty, representatives of public organizations, and citizens, and the medal was awarded during a ceremony following a meeting of the Council of Elders at the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Foundation.
Expressing his gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the national leader highlighted the enduring legacy of Magtymguly Pyragy’s works, calling them a vital part of the spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated that the medal would inspire continued efforts toward the country’s development and prosperity.
In addition to Berdimuhamedov, members of the Council of Elders and foreign guests attending the anniversary celebrations in the capital were also honored with the commemorative medal and gift set.
