China’s Diplomacy in 2024: Stability, Development, and Global Cooperation

Beijing, December 17, 2024 – The Europe Today: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Tuesday that China’s diplomacy in 2024 had successfully created a favorable external environment for the nation’s high-quality development while providing valuable stability in an increasingly volatile global landscape.

Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, outlined five significant highlights of China’s diplomatic achievements over the past year during a symposium addressing the international situation and China’s foreign relations in 2024.

First, Wang emphasized that China’s head-of-state diplomacy had “written a magnificent new chapter” by guiding global trends toward peace, development, and win-win cooperation.

Second, he highlighted China’s new breakthroughs in advancing the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity, underscoring efforts to strengthen global solidarity amid shared challenges.

Third, Wang underscored that Chinese modernization has provided new opportunities for the world, contributing to the broader development trend of modernization in other countries.

Fourth, he noted China’s efforts in setting a new benchmark for cooperation with developing nations, fostering unity and shared progress within the Global South.

Fifth, Wang pointed to the progress made in deepening China’s comprehensive diplomatic agenda, which has bolstered the trend of building a new type of international relations.
