Chinese Academy of Engineering Unveils Global Top 10 Engineering Achievements of 2024

Beijing, December 19, 2024 – The Europe Today: The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) announced the Global Top 10 Engineering Achievements of 2024 on Wednesday, showcasing groundbreaking advancements across diverse fields of technology and science.

This year’s list features transformative developments, including CAR-T cell therapy, the Chang’e-6 lunar mission, and autonomous vehicles, highlighting their potential to reshape industries and improve lives. Other notable achievements include high-temperature gas-cooled nuclear reactors, surgical robots, flexible displays, and a low-Earth-orbit satellite constellation for global communication.

The selections were made by Engineering, the CAE’s flagship journal, through a meticulous process involving global nominations, expert recommendations, public surveys, and a final review by a distinguished selection committee. According to Chen Jianfeng, Secretary-General of the CAE, the achievements embody significant engineering and technological breakthroughs validated within the past five years.

“Each of these top 10 accomplishments reflects a milestone in engineering or technological innovation,” Chen said. “These achievements not only mark key advances but also provide valuable insights into future technological directions.”

The annual initiative, launched in 2021 by Engineering, aims to honor transformative contributions to engineering and technology while fostering global collaboration in scientific innovation.

The CAE’s recognition underscores the pivotal role of engineering in addressing global challenges and driving societal progress.
