Mecca, December 23, 2024 – The Europe Today: The free nutritious meals program launched by the Indonesian government aims to foster prosperity and justice within the community, stated Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani during a meeting with the World Muslim League’s Secretary General Mohammad Bin Abdulkarim Al Issa in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.
Muzani emphasized the importance of improving Indonesia’s human resource quality by providing nutritious meals for vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, toddlers, schoolchildren, and individuals at risk of stunting. This initiative, he explained, is crucial for achieving national prosperity.
“The success of the free nutritious meals program requires the collective support of all Indonesians. Prosperity cannot exist without unity, and religion is intrinsically linked to prosperity,” he noted.
Muzani also expressed Indonesia’s full support for the World Muslim League’s plan to establish a Prophet Muhammad Museum in the country. He highlighted Indonesia’s longstanding tradition of promoting moderate and tolerant Islamic values, as well as fostering respect for diversity.
“Islamic boarding schools, madrasas, and other educational institutions in Indonesia teach Islam as rahmatan lil alamin—a universal blessing,” Muzani explained.
In addition, Muzani extended an invitation to Secretary General Abdulkarim Al Issa to visit Indonesia and observe the development of moderate Islamic practices in the country. “This reflects our unique way of nurturing Islam in Indonesia, aligning with the goals of the World Muslim League to clarify the message of Islam, build Islamic and humanitarian cooperation, and strengthen global friendships,” he concluded.
