Riyadh, January 21, 2025 – The Europe Today: Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar, represented the Kingdom at US President Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Monday, marking the beginning of his second term as the 47th president of the United States.
Princess Reema conveyed the congratulations of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to President Trump and expressed Saudi Arabia’s hopes for his success in fulfilling his presidential duties, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
“As our two nations celebrate 80 years of friendship, it was my honor to convey our leadership’s heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to President Donald Trump and the American people on his inauguration,” Princess Reema shared on the social media platform X.
She highlighted the deep-rooted and historic ties between Saudi Arabia and the US, emphasizing the Kingdom’s commitment to continued cooperation. “The relationship between our two countries is historic, and we look forward to continuing our work together for the benefit of both our peoples, our region, and the world,” she added.
President Trump, sworn in during a ceremony in Washington, pledged a “revolution of common sense” as he took office. With Republicans securing unified control of Congress, his administration is poised to reshape the country’s institutions and policies in line with his vision.
The event also coincides with a significant milestone in US-Saudi relations, celebrating eight decades of strategic partnership and collaboration across political, economic, and security domains.
