She also serves as the Director of the Latin American Research Academy on a Community with a Shared Future and Belt and Road Initiative (LARA-CSF-BRI) of UNLP and Communication University of China, Beijing. During the session, Dr. Staiano presented her insights on the ‘Community with a Shared Future for Mankind’, a concept that advocates for a humanistic and symbiotic approach to democratization on a global scale. This initiative is closely associated with China’s vision for redefining international relations and establishing a more inclusive global community.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), Islamabad welcomed Dr. Staiano and expressed gratitude for the insights she shared during the session. Dr. Staiano elaborated on the proposed concept of the community as a “new global governance solution” that integrates various dimensions such as politics, security, economics, culture, and ecology. She emphasized that this framework is not merely about rights but embodies responsibilities that nations share in fostering global stability and development. This vision aligns with China’s strategic objectives in shaping a new international economic and legal order, particularly in the context of its Belt and Road Initiative.
Dr. Staiano also discussed the significance of Chinese Humanism and its implications for modern international relations. She highlighted the emergence of a new framework that connects Western democracies and the Global South, proposing that both regions could benefit from mutual understanding and cooperation. This relationship is particularly relevant as nations navigate the complexities of global issues amid structural economic and social crises. Her arguments reiterated the notion that understanding humanity’s connection to the environment is vital to sustainable development and the future of international collaboration.
The training session concluded with an interactive question and answer segment, during which students actively participated, shared their viewpoints, and posed questions to Dr. Maria Francesca Staiano.
Currently, about 30 Master’s and Bachelor’s level students are participating in this fellowship program.
