Kazakhstan Leads Central Asia in Logistics Efficiency, Surpassing Neighbors

Astana, January 27, 2025 – The Europe Today: Kazakhstan has emerged as the leader in logistics infrastructure efficiency and customs procedures among Central Asian nations, according to the latest Logistics Performance Index (LPI). The LPI ranked Kazakhstan 95th out of 139 countries, scoring 2.7 points, placing it ahead of its regional counterparts.

Uzbekistan ranked 107th with 2.6 points, Tajikistan 124th with 2.5 points, and Kyrgyzstan 133rd with 2.3 points. Russia, sharing the same score as Uzbekistan, also ranked 107th.

Singapore topped the global rankings with an exceptional score of 4.3, demonstrating unparalleled performance across nearly all logistics criteria. In contrast, Afghanistan and Libya ranked at the bottom of the list with a score of 1.9, reflecting inefficient logistics infrastructure and customs processes.

The LPI evaluates logistics performance based on six key indicators: customs procedure efficiency, transport infrastructure quality, delivery organization ease, logistics service competency, cargo tracking capabilities, and timely delivery within established deadlines.

In a related development, Kazakhstan recently ratified an agreement to build a trade and logistics complex at the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border, signaling the country’s ongoing investment in strengthening its logistics capabilities.
