Podgorica, February 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: The prospects for expanding cooperation in tourism, increasing tourist flows, and strengthening business ties between Kazakhstan and Montenegro were the key topics of discussion during a meeting between Consul General of Kazakhstan in Podgorica Gabiden Temirbek and Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić. The meeting, held on February 11, was reported by the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Consul General Temirbek highlighted the importance of a visa-free regime in further enhancing tourism and business relations between the two countries. He expressed hope that Montenegro’s seasonal visa-free regime for Kazakh citizens, which is introduced annually, would be extended in 2025 to facilitate greater people-to-people exchanges and business interactions.
Minister Kordić, in turn, conveyed Montenegro’s strong interest in expanding tourism cooperation with Kazakhstan and increasing bilateral tourist flows. She emphasized the importance of developing direct air connections, optimizing visa procedures, and diversifying tourism offerings to attract more visitors. Additionally, she noted that the extension of the seasonal visa-free regime is currently under review by Montenegro’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with relevant European Union authorities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue their joint efforts to strengthen cooperation in the tourism sector, effectively leverage the tourism potential of both nations, and develop long-term partnerships that will contribute to mutual economic growth.
This development follows recent reports that Kazakhstan has risen in the rankings as a preferred foreign tourism destination for Chinese nationals, signaling the country’s growing appeal in the global travel market.
