Tashkent, February 17, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Ministry of Digital Technologies has successfully organized the Uzbekistan – Japan Forum, a key event aimed at fostering collaboration in the information technology sector between the two nations.
The forum gathered leading IT industry figures, investors, and experts from both Uzbekistan and Japan. Discussions centered on attracting investments into Uzbekistan’s rapidly expanding digital sphere. Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sakurai Akihiro, highlighted the significant potential for bilateral cooperation in the IT sector.
It was noted that in 2023, only one Japanese resident company was present in Uzbekistan’s IT Park. However, by the end of 2024, this number is expected to grow to ten, with three companies actively engaged in exporting IT services. The event also featured B2B meetings and networking sessions, allowing IT enterprises from both countries to explore partnership opportunities.
The forum underscored the mutual commitment of Uzbekistan and Japan to strengthening IT collaboration and unlocking new avenues for joint projects and investments.
Following the event, three additional Japanese companies expressed interest in establishing offices in Uzbekistan, further reinforcing the growing technological partnership between the two nations.
