Belarusian Speaker Kochanova Urges Stronger Youth Ties Between Azerbaijan and Belarus

Baku, February 19, 2025 – The Europe Today: Speaker of the Republic Council of the National Assembly of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova, emphasized the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering global stability and protecting the sovereign rights of states during the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Baku.

“The modern multipolar world can contribute significantly to maintaining global balance and ensuring the sovereign rights of states, even though it will not address all our challenges. In this vein, Belarus sees parliamentary diplomacy as one of the major tools,” Kochanova stated.

She also highlighted the importance of youth engagement in strengthening bilateral ties, stressing that the younger generation plays a crucial role in shaping international relations. “If our young people maintain friendly relations, our countries will do the same,” she noted.

Furthermore, Kochanova described youth as a strategic resource essential for societal development, underscoring their role in building a prosperous and stable future.

The 15th plenary session of the APA convened parliamentary representatives from across Asia to discuss regional cooperation, legislative initiatives, and diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing contemporary challenges.
