UAE, Turkmenistan Leaders Discuss Strengthening Strategic Partnership

Ashgabat, February 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), met Friday with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of the Republic of Turkmenistan in the capital, Ashgabat.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed the greetings of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Berdimuhamedov, along with his best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of Turkmenistan, its leadership, and its people.

The discussions underscored the deep-rooted historical ties between the UAE and Turkmenistan, with H.H. Sheikh Mansour emphasizing the commitment of both nations’ leadership to further strengthening cooperation across various sectors. Both sides explored opportunities to expand bilateral relations for mutual benefit and to enhance collaboration in key areas of interest.

In addition to bilateral relations, the leaders exchanged views on regional and international developments of common concern. The meeting served as a platform to reaffirm their shared vision for peace, stability, and economic cooperation.

During the talks, President Berdimuhamedov extended an official invitation to the UAE President to participate in the International Forum for Peace and Trust, scheduled to take place in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025. H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed received the invitation on behalf of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reflecting the strong diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

Earlier in the day, upon his arrival in Turkmenistan, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan was received by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, underscoring the warm ties and high-level engagement between the two countries.
