Ashgabat, February 23, 2025 – The Europe Today: An interdepartmental meeting was convened at the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, bringing together key stakeholders from the transport and logistics sectors to discuss customs procedures and trade facilitation measures.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Turkmendemiryollary and Turkmenavtoulaglary agencies, the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan OJSC, employees of several transport and logistics companies, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, as well as private entrepreneurs and customs brokers.
During the session, customs service specialists provided insights into ongoing efforts to streamline customs procedures and enhance trade operations. They highlighted the advantages of submitting preliminary electronic information on imported goods and obtaining the status of an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), which offers expedited clearance and other trade facilitation benefits.
According to the official website of the State Customs Service, practical demonstrations of preliminary information submission by international carriers were presented. Additionally, customs procedures for exported goods were clarified, including the clearance processes required for goods crossing the customs border under state-issued permits.
Participants collectively acknowledged the importance of close cooperation between customs authorities, government regulatory agencies, and entities engaged in foreign economic activity. They emphasized that such collaboration would contribute to achieving significant progress in trade facilitation and economic growth.
The meeting underscored the commitment of Turkmenistan’s customs authorities to fostering an efficient and transparent customs environment, ultimately supporting the country’s broader economic development goals.
