Islamabad, February 24, 2025 – The Europe Today: At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on February 25-26, accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and other cabinet members, the Foreign Office announced in a press release on Monday.
During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif and President Mirziyoyev will hold bilateral discussions covering various aspects of cooperation, including connectivity, trade, investment, energy, defence, and security. The leaders will also exchange views on regional stability, education, and international matters of mutual interest. Additionally, a number of bilateral agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed.
As part of his official engagements, Prime Minister Sharif will address the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum, where leading business representatives from both nations will participate in discussions and business-to-business (B2B) meetings aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
Pakistan and Uzbekistan share deep historical, cultural, and religious ties, with a shared vision for peace and development. The Prime Minister’s visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening relations with Uzbekistan through increased economic collaboration and the exploration of new avenues of partnership, in line with the broader strategy for regional integration and economic prosperity.
