Tashkent, February 26, 2025 – The Europe Today: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, have signed a Joint Declaration and Protocol on the establishment of a bilateral Strategic Partnership Council at the highest level. This initiative aims to further develop and strengthen multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
In a ceremony attended by both leaders, an exchange of several key agreements took place, reinforcing collaboration in various sectors. The signed documents include:
- Cooperation Agreement in Science, Technology, and Innovation – aimed at fostering joint research and technological advancements.
- Agreement on Visa-Free Travel for Holders of Diplomatic Passports – facilitating diplomatic engagements and official travel.
- Cooperation Agreement between the Ministries of Internal Affairs – enhancing security cooperation and law enforcement collaboration.
- Cooperation Agreement in Vocational Education – promoting skills development and professional training programs.
- Cooperation Agreement in Youth Policy – fostering initiatives to empower youth and enhance cultural exchanges.
- Cooperation Agreement between National News Agencies – strengthening media cooperation and information exchange.
- Agreements and Arrangements on Cooperation between Diplomatic Academies, the Cities of Tashkent and Lahore, and Other Documents – reinforcing educational, cultural, and municipal collaborations.
