Presentation of Turkmen President’s Book “Makhtumkuli – Thinker of the World” Held in Beijing

Beijing, March 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: A grand presentation ceremony for the book Makhtumkuli – Thinker of the World by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was held at the Cultural Center of the Green Rivers Manor Hotel in Beijing. The event was accompanied by a gala reception marking the declaration of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, as reported by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China, Parakhat Durdyev, along with diplomats from the Turkmen Embassy. Also present were distinguished guests, including Yue Gaofeng, Secretary General of the Chinese Horse Breeding Association and Honored Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan, as well as a laureate of the jubilee medal For the 300th Anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fragi; Zhao Xiaojia, Vice-Rector and Professor at Ningxia University and another laureate of the jubilee medal; and S. Mashrykov, a teacher at Northwestern University in Xi’an. The event also welcomed the management and staff of the Cultural Center and Turkmen students studying at various universities in Beijing.

Speakers at the event highlighted the significance of the book Makhtumkuli – Thinker of the World, noting its impact on literary and cultural discourse. They emphasized the remarkable connection between the enduring poetic legacy of the great Makhtumkuli Fragi and the global celebration of the International Year of Peace and Trust, which coincides with Turkmenistan’s neutrality anniversary.

A poignant moment of the event was the recital of Magtymguly’s renowned poem The Future of Turkmenistan in both Turkmen and Chinese by Turkmen graduate students.

As part of the ceremony, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China distributed copies of President Berdimuhamedov’s book, along with collections of Makhtumkuli Fragi’s poetry translated into Chinese, to Chinese partners and Turkmen students.
