Beijing, March 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has emphasized the need to elevate the Peaceful China Initiative to a higher level. He made these remarks while presiding over a group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Friday.
Xi underscored the importance of continued efforts to enhance national security, ensure social order, improve governance efficiency, and boost public satisfaction. He noted that since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, China has achieved the remarkable dual success of rapid economic growth and long-term social stability, thanks to the CPC Central Committee’s leadership and systematic advancements in national security.
Highlighting the evolving nature of security challenges, Xi stressed that the construction of a Peaceful China must be strengthened rather than weakened. He reaffirmed that a holistic approach to national security is a fundamental principle guiding the advancement of the initiative.
Xi called on party committees and governments at all levels to take decisive steps in addressing security concerns, ensuring long-term national stability. He emphasized the significance of safeguarding people’s legitimate rights and interests while upholding social fairness and justice.
Preventing and mitigating various risks is a critical aspect of the Peaceful China Initiative, Xi noted, with national political security as the top priority. He also called for enhanced efforts in disaster prevention and mitigation, cyberspace security, and artificial intelligence security, particularly in high-risk areas.
Additionally, Xi highlighted the necessity of improving crime prevention mechanisms and ensuring legal, structured handling of public complaints. He reaffirmed the CPC Central Committee’s absolute leadership over national security, judicial, and law enforcement matters, stressing the role of modern technology in enhancing social governance.
During the session, Li Yan, Vice President and Professor at the Southwest University of Political Science and Law, shared her insights and recommendations on advancing the Peaceful China Initiative.
