Moscow, March 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: A delegation led by A. Rafikov, Chairman of the Committee for Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is currently visiting Russia to enhance bilateral collaboration in nuclear and radiation safety.
During the visit, Chairman Rafikov met with A. Trembitsky, Head of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Supervision of Russia. Both parties exchanged expertise on the roles and responsibilities of regulatory authorities in industrial, radiation, and nuclear safety and discussed potential areas of cooperation.
As part of the visit, the Uzbek delegation will observe the operations of several organizations and undertake a technical tour of the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in nuclear and radiation safety is conducted within the framework of an agreement focused on regulating the peaceful use of atomic energy.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to develop a Joint Action Plan for 2025-2026 to further strengthen their partnership in this critical sector.
