Astana, March 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: Kazakhstan has made significant progress in the digitalization sector and artificial intelligence (AI) implementation, increasing IT service exports and emerging as a leader in Central Asia, according to Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. His remarks were featured in an article reflecting on the six-year presidency of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as reported by Kazinform News Agency.
Kazakhstan possesses competitive advantages in this sector, with digital solutions deeply integrated across various industries to enhance efficiency and accelerate development. Key digital initiatives currently in use include the Digital Family Card, Social Wallet, and digital vouchers for kindergartens. Additionally, the QazaqLaw digital assistant for legislation and the LLM national language model have been developed, with the Digital Business Card and other projects underway.
Over the past five years, the country’s innovation output has more than doubled, rising from 1.1 trillion tenge to 2.4 trillion tenge. To further support innovation, the Qazaqstan Venture Group has been established within the Astana International Financial Centre, with a target funding volume of $1 billion. The fund prioritizes investments in innovative projects across Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
Looking ahead, Kazakhstan plans to launch the Alem.ai International AI Center in 2025 to accelerate the nation’s digital transformation.
Meanwhile, the housing sector has also experienced substantial growth, with construction rates increasing by 6.4 million square meters, or 51.4%, in 2024 compared to 2018, reaching a total of 19 million square meters.
These developments underscore Kazakhstan’s commitment to technological advancement and economic progress in the region.
