Samarkand, March 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: At the conclusion of his visit to Samarkand, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Hazrati Khizr complex and the mausoleum of Uzbekistan’s First President, Islam Karimov. During the visit, Quranic verses were recited, and prayers were offered in memory of the late leader.
The act of remembering the good deeds of the departed and maintaining the beauty of cemeteries are deeply rooted in the noble values of the Uzbek people. Reflecting these traditions, the mausoleum of President Karimov was constructed under the leadership of President Mirziyoyev, transforming it into a revered place of pilgrimage.
Such acts of remembrance and reverence become especially prominent during the blessed month of Ramadan, as noble deeds and gestures of respect are evident throughout the country.
The Hazrati Khizr complex, a symbol of spirituality and national pride, remains a significant site for reflection and honoring the memory of Uzbekistan’s first president.
