Islamabad, March 28, 2025 – The Europe Today: A significant step towards enhancing Uzbekistan-Pakistan digital cooperation was taken as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, His Excellency Alisher Tukhtaev, held a productive meeting with Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
The discussions focused on expanding bilateral ties in key strategic areas, including information technology, digital development, innovation, startup ecosystems, cybersecurity, blockchain, e-government, and digitalization of public services. The Pakistani side was also briefed on Uzbekistan’s Digital Uzbekistan – 2030 Strategy, highlighting the establishment of IT parks, the introduction of cutting-edge platforms, and the development of a favorable digital ecosystem for citizens and businesses.
Both sides agreed on concrete steps to develop a joint roadmap, launch student exchange programs, organize IT forums, facilitate mutual delegation visits, and expand the legal framework for digital cooperation.
Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja extended an invitation to a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan to participate in the Digital Foreign Direct Investment Forum – 2025, scheduled to be held in Islamabad from April 28 to 30.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Uzbekistan and Pakistan to strengthening their digital partnership as a foundation for sustainable development, technological innovation, and closer bilateral ties.
