Dushanbe, March 31, 2025 – The Europe Today: In a landmark development for regional diplomacy, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have officially enforced the Treaty on Allied Relations following a formal exchange of ratification instruments.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, as the foreign ministers of both nations signed the Protocol and exchanged the ratified documents.
The treaty, originally signed on April 18, 2024, in Dushanbe, marks a significant step in strengthening political, economic, and security cooperation between the two neighboring countries. It has now come into force with immediate effect following the exchange of instruments of ratification.
This agreement reinforces the deepening strategic partnership, mutual trust, and long-term cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, fostering greater stability and development in the region.
