Turkmenistan Appoints New Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs

Ashgabat, April 03, 2025 – The Europe Today: The President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has appointed Police Lieutenant Colonel Ovezgeldi Kakalyev as the new Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, according to News Hub Consultants.

Kakalyev replaces Police Lieutenant Colonel Vepaly Atayev, who was dismissed from the position by a separate decree issued by the head of state.

The appointment marks another significant change within Turkmenistan’s internal affairs leadership as the government continues to restructure its law enforcement and security sectors.
